Properties Portfolio Committee

Chris Jennings (Chair), Bill Akam, Richard Druce, Roland Krueger

A working group with delegated board authority to oversee:

  • The execution and maintenance of all the Charity’s leases & licenses obtained from municipal or provincial governments.

  • Ensuring all properties maintain appropriate Insurance coverage.

  • Ensuring compliance with all governmental regulatory requirements, for each property in our portfolio.

  • Development and maintenance of all leases proffered by our Charity to various tenant operators.

  • Ensuring active liaison with the local Camp Committees of tenant operators with respect to supporting capital improvements, repairs and all other operational aspects that require our Charity’s oversight.

Permissive Tax Exemption (PTE) committee

Tara Kinsey (Chair), Maxine McLean, & Tara’s crew

A working group with delegated board authority to:

  • Ensure all Permissive Tax Exemptions are constructed and compliantly filed with municipal authorities on behalf of our Charity for all applicable properties within our portfolio.

  • Ensuring active liaison with the local camp committees of our tenant operators to garner community benefit data in support our PTE applications.

Finance & Audit Committee

Maxine Mclean (Chair), Richard Druce, Keith Martin, Roland Krueger

A working group supporting the board with respect to:

  • Development of financial management and accounting policies.

  • Annual budgeting & financial forecasting.

  • Support & oversight of annual financial audits.

The Charity’s Treasurer is a standing member of this committee.

Governance committee

Richard Druce (Chair), Chris Jennings, Lori Ackerman, Tara Kinsey

A working group supporting the board with respect to:

  • Bylaw & Policy evolution.

  • Governance Activities & Committee structures.

  • Charitable Mandate compliance.

The Charity’s Corporate Secretary is a standing member of this committee.

Volunteer Services Committee

Keith Martin (Chair), Tara Kinsey, Dawn Martin-Smith

A working group with delegated board authority with respect to:

  • Building the human capital of the Charity through the systematic recruitment and registration of new volunteers into the Charity.

  • Ensuring volunteer screening is undertaken in accordance with our registration policy.

  • Development of regular communication updates to the Charity’s membership.

  • Development & maintenance of the Charity’s Website and other IT infrastructure required to keep our Charity’s membership and other stakeholders connected and informed.

The Charity's Registrar is a standing member of this committee.

Capital Fund Development Committee

Roland Krueger (Chair), Lori Ackerman, Keith Martin

A working group supporting the board with respect to:

  • The assessment and development of capital campaign strategies that best serve our Charitable Mandate.

  • Community benefit modelling resulting from operational initiatives that further our Charitable Mandate.

  • Development of use of proceeds strategies & reporting requirements.

  • Development & execution of project based capital campaign strategies.

  • Identification & development of key partners and potential sources of capital.
